Indiana Young Farmers

Indiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmer Program was created to help young men and women capitalize on the opportunities and overcome the challenges in agriculture to make your farm operation more profitable.

Launched in 1969, the Young Farmer Program has made a positive difference in the lives of countless young farmers, helping many of them to achieve career success through agricultural education.

In addition, the program was founded to educate today's young farmers to become tomorrow's leaders. Indiana Farm Bureau looks to the Young Farmer Program for its future leaders, men and women who will work hard to promote policies that are good for society-small business owners and land owners.

Excellence in Ag

The Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award Program is designed as an opportunity for Young Farmers who do not derive the majority of their income from an owned agricultural operation, while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture, to earn recognition. Participants will be judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations (i.e., civic, service and community).

Achievement Award

Discussion Meet

The strength of Farm Bureau lies largely in its ability to involve young members in analyzing their agricultural challenges and deciding solutions that best meet their needs. Experience has proven that the Discussion Meet will provide an opportunity for greater participation on the part of young, active farmers and help them to develop a greater command of basic discussion skills. They will acquire a better understanding of how people think in groups for the purpose of solving problems.
